 Friday-Sunday

Kia ora, I’m Mathew Kiore (Ngāti Maniapoto), a bereavement support person with Aoake te Rā. I’ve spent over 20 years walking alongside whānau through grief, loss, and healing — particularly across Otago and Southland, where my roots and relationships are strong.

My approach draws on mātauranga Māori, rongoā practices, and Te Taiao — using the natural world as a source of calm, grounding, and reconnection. Whether it’s through karakia, mirimiri, or simply sitting together in kōrero, I offer support that is guided by aroha, tikanga, and the needs of each whānau.

I meet people where they’re most comfortable — in the māra, the ngahere, or around the kitchen table — always with the intention of creating safe, mana-enhancing spaces. I come from a whakapapa of leadership and service, and I carry that responsibility with me in every interaction. You won’t walk this journey alone — I’ll walk it with you.
