Kia Ora,

My name is Marjan Askarian-Amiri, I am originally from Iran and moved to New Zealand in 1994. I lived in Dunedin for more that 10 years and after completing my PhD at the University of Otago moved to Germany and then Australia before coming to Auckland. Currently, I am working as registered counsellor, provide support for individual, couple and family and based in Auckland.

I find navigating grief after losing a loved one devastating, with many layers of complexity. I am prepared to support you on this challenging journey. I am a client-centred counsellor with extensive experience in trauma and grief. My life and work experiences in New Zealand, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia have made me culturally competent when working with clients from diverse backgrounds. I also have significant experience working with refugees and migrants who moved to New Zealand from different parts of world. I am fluent in speaking Farsi/Persian.
