Kia ora,
My name is John Black.
I was born and grew up in Northern Ireland. I have worked and studied in various countries including Sweden, Greece, New Zealand (Whakatane) and United Kingdom (London).
I live in Blenheim where I have my counselling office.
I am a qualified and registered person centred counsellor with over 20 years’ experience. Much of my clinical experience has focussed on adolescent boys and men who have found it difficult to access therapeutic mental health support.
As a counsellor, supporting people and their whānau with loss and bereavement is part of my weekly work.
I am drawn to this work because I believe I can help people who have lost someone to suicide to process thoughts and feelings as they travel through their journey.
