Kia ora,
He uri tēnei ki Waikato, Tainui, e noho ana ahau ki Putāruru, ko Damita Schuh tōku ingoa.
I have over 14 years of experience in counselling, which has given me the privilege of working closely with individuals and whānau. I have provided essential support and guidance to whānau, helping them navigate through challenging times.
I am passionate about supporting those who have been affected by Whakamomori, having personally experienced the impact of suicide within my own whānau and through personal connections, I understand the profound and lasting effects it can have on individuals and whānau. This motivates me to contribute to creating a supportive and compassionate environment for those who are grieving.
My practice is underpinned by kaupapa Māori values, which informs my approach to counselling. This foundation ensures that my work is culturally responsive, holistic, and centred on the well-being of the whole person and their whānau. I am committed to fostering environments where whanau feel safe, heard, and empowered.
I offer flexible and accessible support, enabling whānau to manage their commitments while receiving the necessary care. Although I am based in the Waikato and primarily offer face-to-face support in this region, I am also available to provide support across Aotearoa through online or phone sessions.
