Kia ora, my name is Christine North, and I live in the Bay of Plenty where I work as a counsellor from St Peters House three days a week. I have a Bachelor of Counselling, and I have been working for over 5 years with individuals and couples with a variety of issues including grief, bereavement by suicide, trauma, depression and anxiety. I previously worked as an Occupational Therapist for 18 years and during this time I gained experience and insight into the lives of people living with many complex situations including grief, loss and trauma. I am passionate about supporting people who are struggling with emotionally devastating events as this can leave us with painful emotions along with feeling alone, judged, or misunderstood. I believe that getting the right, professional, non-judgemental care and support is so important to helping people make progress. I use a variety of counselling modalities however I endeavour to work with people in a way that best meets individual needs as I appreciate our situations and stories are unique.
I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am – 4pm. I see clients in person; however, I am also available online via Telehealth.
