Kia ora, I'm Amy Benjamin, a registered Counsellor based in Milford on Auckland’s North Shore. I offer both in-person and online support to clients across New Zealand. During my 10 years of experience, I have provided support to clients through grief, trauma, and all aspects of mental health. I have supported many bereaved by suicide, which inspired me to become a provider for Aoake te Rā.
I understand that for some, counselling can feel both hopeful and daunting. My approach is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive space for clients from all walks of life. A unique aspect of my practice is offering the option of indoor or outdoor sessions, known as Ecotherapy. I’ve found that for some people, walking outside in natural spaces, can feel more comfortable and grounding than sitting indoors. Whether we walk and talk or sit by the lake or beach, time spent in nature can offer space for movement and somatic practices like breathwork and mindfulness. This can be a powerful way to navigate grief, regulate the nervous system, and nurture self-care.
It would be an honour to support you in sharing your story in a way that feels meaningful to you. For more information, or if you have any questions before booking your first appointment, please don’t hesitate to visit my website or get in touch.
