My name is Suzie Dimmendaal, I am a professional Counsellor based in Picton.
I am a Registered Comprehensive Nurse with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in education, a Post Graduate Diploma (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and a Master of Counselling degree. I have been a full member of the NZ Association of Counsellors (NZAC) since 2002 and I am a registered ACC Sensitive Claims Provider.
I am drawn to this area of work as I believe it is important to build a trusting relationship where people feel safe to explore ways through the issues which affect them. Having worked with people from a range of backgrounds, gender’s and cultures my practice recognises the inherent dignity of each person.
I draw on an array of therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs, with a fundamental understanding that we have the ability to overcome adversity, create change, resilience and wellness at any point in our lives.
