Kia Ora, my name is Nate. My iwi are Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Awa and Ngāti Porou. I grew up in and live in Tairāwhiti (Gisborne). I am a registered social worker who has chosen suicide prevention and bereavement as my area of work because of my life expirience and strong ties to the community. I have an interest in supporting children, youth, and young adults, however, I see myself as someone who is open to supporting all ages and whānau. I am drawn to this area of work because I believe every person has a reason for being, sometimes we just need support in a safe environment to re-nurture strengths within us “e kore au e ngaro, he kākano ahau i Rangiātea, I can never be lost I am a seed from Rangiātea”.
