Ko Matt toku ingoa

Ko Cameron te Whanau

No Morrinsville, Waikato ahau

Ko Piako toku awa

Ko Te Aroha toku maunga

My name is Matt Cameron.  I was born and raised in a little town called Morrinsville, in the Waikato. When I left school, I began an electrical engineering qualification but decided that I wanted to work with people not houses. So, that led to a job in a church as a youth worker then I began a degree in pastoral care and theology. At the end of that I felt inexperienced and young to do pastoral work, so I trained as a primary school teacher and have been teaching since 1997 in South Canterbury.

While teaching, I completed a counselling diploma and began a part-time job working as the Grief and Loss Coordinator in South Canterbury in 2012. I am passionate about people and love watching hope and confidence being amplified in every person.

I am married to a lovely woman and have two young adult boys who have essentially left home. Along with teaching, counselling and facilitating grief and loss groups, I am also a tennis referee, working for Tennis NZ at junior National tournaments.

I apply the Solution Focused approach to all my work. The Solution Focused Approach is currently a leading method around the world in leadership, coaching, social work and counselling. I believe it is simple and easy to apply which means you will gain skills and knowledge that can immediately apply to your situation. The Solution Focused approach can be described as a client-centred, strength-based, multi-cultural and user-friendly style that is life changing and applicable to every situation. Come on a journey of change, joy and possibility.
