Kia ora, my name is Julie Aitken. I am a Registered Psychologist in Pukekohe. I appreciate being a Provider for the Aoake te Rā Service. It is a privilege to work alongside people to hear their stories, and to provide a safe space to be heard. My experience stems back to Corrections Psychology, working in NZ prisons, and then to working with people who suffered brain injury and more recently in brief/short term counselling. My areas of interest are grief, working through trauma and other aspects of mental health. It is important for people to feel heard and to identify strategies to cope, and to find a sense of direction or meaning.
