Kia ora. My name is Elize Coetsee. I am from the Free State, South Africa and moved to New Zealand in 2018. I but am based in Hamilton and cover most of Waikato region face to face. I work Monday to Fridays 8-5 and have some weekend availability. I am a clinical psychologist with over 12 years’ experience in working with grief, and people bereaved by suicide. I have lots of experience working with diverse backgrounds, and work mainly with the adults and family/whānau groups. I am drawn to this area of work by the personal experience of loss, including loss by suicide in close quarters. These losses, changed my view on life and created a deep-seated passion to sit with others in this hard space. I believe that we can learn to live with the loss and find meaning in the memories and love left behind by our loved ones. Loss and love become part of our stories and we can carry the weight- but we can find hope in sharing this trauma in a safe, non-judgmental space.
