Kia ora. I am Chanel Houlahan. I can cover much of Lakes region as a face to face provider, and online for anywhere in N.Z.  As a qualified counsellor & family therapist I have worked for 40 years in many therapeutic clinics,  a registered teacher, 26 years as Guidance Counsellor in schools. I ran a Ministry of Social Development (MSD) approved and funded Youth Alive Programme for youth at risk and their families.

For many years I was a supervisor and counsellor/trainer at WDHB Community Alcohol & Drug Services (CADS). Much of this work involved supporting young and older people in processing and working through their grief.

I am a full member of NZAC. As a registered celebrant I lead marriages, funerals and celebrations of a person’s life.

I am committed to accompanying whanau & individuals through their grief journey as they process their fears, sadness and doubts . Every person deserves to tell their story both of love and loss and its in telling their story lies the healing beyond loss.
