Kia ora, my name is Alex and I grew up in London, but have lived in New Zealand since 2008. I am a father of three boys and am in a mixed cultural relationship (Japanese and Pākehā). I currently live in New Plymouth and provide face to face sessions there, but I am able to see people throughout the country via video call. I work from Tuesday through to Friday, 9 to 5.
During my multi decade career I have spent many years working closely with kaupapa Māori services and clinicians in Northland, supported the rainbow community, and provided interventions for young people. Alex has experience working with people with trauma, sexual abuse, violence prevention, relationship problems and abuse, addiction, mental health, and grief. He can work with individuals or couples.
I work within this field because I have a strong passon to empower people to make the changes they are needing. I believe that we as counsellors must listen carefully to those who come to talk and then together find solutions.
